Official Development

The Mentorship
Program

Every great official had someone who believed in them before they believed in themselves. The UTS Mentorship Program connects developing officials with experienced mentors who have been exactly where you are — and made it through.

Why Mentorship Matters

The Game Doesn't
Come With a Manual

Officiating is one of the few professions where you're expected to perform at a high level with minimal guidance. Most officials figure it out alone — through mistakes, through criticism, through years of trial and error.

Mentorship changes that. A good mentor compresses years of hard lessons into honest conversations. They've made the mistakes so you don't have to. They know the assigners, the politics, the unwritten rules — and they're willing to share.

For Mentors

Give back to the craft that gave you so much. Share what you know, shape the next generation, and stay connected to the game in a new way.

For Mentees

Stop guessing. Get direct, honest feedback from someone who has been exactly where you are — and made it through to the other side.

For the Game

Better-prepared officials mean better games. When officials grow, the sport grows. Mentorship is how we raise the standard together.
